Colleen Bigley Gruici is a physical therapist who has been practicing in the South Jersey area since 2000. Her academic career started at the University of Delaware, graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Neuroscience in 1998. She followed that immediately with a Master’s degree in Physical Therapy from University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey/Rutgers-Camden in 2000. After practicing for several years, she returned to Temple University and completed course work for a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in 2009. She then completed an Advanced Practice Certificate in Hand and Upper Extremity from Drexel University in 2014, followed by earning the title of Certified Hand Therapist (CHT). Colleen has worked in many different settings during her career, with the majority of her experience in the out-patient orthopedic setting. She has completed additional certifications over the years including Pilates based rehabilitation, wound care and industrial rehabilitation. Colleen has been an Astym certified provider since 2010, and finds this technique extremely helpful in managing soft tissue injuries such as tendonitis. Colleen lives with her husband and son in Blackwood, NJ. She enjoys spending time with her family and reading in her spare time.
Cathy graduated from The Richard Stockton College of NJ with her B.S. in Biology in 2007, and her M.S. in Occupational Therapy in 2009. During graduate studies, she completed 3 months of clinical training in outpatient upper extremity rehab at Philadelphia Hand Center. Cathy started her career in the outpatient hand therapy setting in spring 2010 and spent 3 years working with seasoned Certified Hand Therapists, learning custom splint fabrication, wound care, treatment for nerve and poly-traumatic injuries, and attained her certification in Graston instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization. She spent 6+ years in alternate settings gaining diverse experience in treatment of stroke, cardiac conditions, and geriatric cognitive impairments in addition to progressive neurodegenerative diseases such as Multiple Sclerosis. In 2015, Cathy passed the HTCC board exam and acquired her Certification in Hand Therapy, while working in the home health setting. She utilized her certification to develop a hand rehabilitation program for a South Jersey physical therapy clinic in 2018. Cathy's specialties and interests include custom splinting, rehab for nerve compression injuries, treatment of chronic tendinopathies, differential diagnosis of wrist injuries, and ergonomics. Cathy enjoys horseback riding, gardening, painting, hiking and outdoor recreation in her free time.
