Catherine Costa

Cathy graduated from The Richard Stockton College of NJ with her B.S. in Biology in 2007, and her M.S. in Occupational Therapy in 2009. During graduate studies, she completed 3 months of clinical training in outpatient upper extremity rehab at Philadelphia Hand Center.

Cathy started her career in the outpatient hand therapy setting in spring 2010 and spent 3 years working with seasoned Certified Hand Therapists, learning custom splint fabrication, wound care, treatment for nerve and poly-traumatic injuries, and attained her certification in Graston instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization.

She spent 6+ years in alternate settings gaining diverse experience in treatment of stroke, cardiac conditions, and geriatric cognitive impairments in addition to progressive neurodegenerative diseases such as Multiple Sclerosis. In 2015, Cathy passed the HTCC board exam and acquired her Certification in Hand Therapy, while working in the home health setting. She utilized her certification to develop a hand rehabilitation program for a South Jersey physical therapy clinic in 2018.

Cathy's specialties and interests include custom splinting, rehab for nerve compression injuries, treatment of chronic tendinopathies, differential diagnosis of wrist injuries, and ergonomics. Cathy enjoys horseback riding, gardening, painting, hiking and outdoor recreation in her free time.
