Back & Neck Pain

Physical Therapy has proven to be the premier choice in eliminating and managing neck and back pain. Unfortunately in today's world, opioid addiction has become an epidemic. While opioids only hide your pain temporarily, physical therapy is meant to manage your pain. Physical therapists treat spinal conditions with movement, exercise, and different modalities such as heat, ice, iontophoresis, and other items to restore function and reduce pain.

Aggressive treatments such as back surgery, injections, and prescription medication are not only costly, but are also not one hundred percent effective. Before you opt for surgery, or any type of opioid, ask your physician about Physical Therapy.

Strive utilizes The McKenzie Method of Mechanical Diagnosis and Treatment when treating the spine. This method is a movement based assessment for musculoskeletal problems. While this method is effective in treating back pain, it also deals with problems with the neck and cervical spine, as well as issues with extremities such as shoulders, knees, and ankles. The McKenzie Method promotes the body to repair itself without any medications, injections, or any other form of medical intervention. This method analyzes a patient's movements and mechanics and identifies what ones causes the patient's pain. At this point the therapist can go and prescribe the correct amount of exercise to combat a patient's pain. Prevention is also a large component of the Mckenzie Method. Our physical therapists will make sure that you have an updated home exercise program throughout the course of your plan of care to ensure that your back pain remains manageable.

Common spine diagnoses include:

  • Spinal Stenosis
  • Degenerative Disc Disease
  • Sciatica
  • Herniated Discs
  • Osteoarthritis
  • Osteoporosis

Strive has therapists that are certified in the McKenzie Method of Mechanical Diagnosis and Treatment in all of our clinics. Find one of our Certified MDT's at a location near you by visiting our locations page.

The time I spent with Tom and other members of the staff was great. The therapy that was provided cured me! I’m thankful to Dr. Paz who recommended that I come here. Again the staff here at STRIVE have been great. I could come here just for the workout. Again, I say thanks for your professionalism and support to help me.
